The Markkleeberg town hall has a long history behind it before it became what we see now. As early as 1744, a house was built on the same spot in what was then the district of Oetzsch by Colonel Lüttichau (landlord of Großstädteln), an inn which was known and just as popular as the "Green Linde".

In 1921, the municipality of Oetzsch-Markkleeberg needed a larger municipal office and bought the "Green Linde" inn. The very next year, 1921, the building was inaugurated as the town hall, and in 1934 Markkleeberg was elevated to town status.

Some renovation work was already carried out during the GDR era, and the first major renovation work on the town hall began in 1990.

Even today, you can enjoy delicious food in the town hall cellar "Zur Linde".

Very nice town hall in the idyllic small town Markkleeberg. In the immediate vicinity is access to the Agrapark and the S-Bahn station in a westerly direction.
