What a view, drive the road, it's worth it!

A spectacular trail, not difficult uphill. We enjoy it now; it wasn't like this here in the past.

This carriage road with a compact dirt surface (which can also be easily traveled from Gravel) was originally a path and was adapted in 1937 to allow you to reach the summit more easily by vehicle, even in winter, thanks to its southern exposure. The climb is easy, with average gradients of 7-12%.
After passing the short D'Havet tunnel the panorama explodes in all its beauty with the road that winds along the coast on a precipice over the Canale valley.
You reach the General Achille Papa refuge (1,918 s.l.m.), a beautiful structure in a panoramic position built on the area of the grounds of what remained of a brick shelter from the war barracks.
