Nothing remains of the castle except for the surrounding moat.
For several centuries, Agnesburg belonged to a chain of other castles, such as Hohenstaufen, Lauterburg, Rosenstein, Kapfenburg, Schenkenstein and Flochberg.
The owners of this castle were probably the lords of Westhusen.
The last descendant was the daughter Agnes. She had no offspring.
Their estate of 1800 acres then went to the parish and church.
