There is information, maps and a small café here. There are also picnic areas and many ducks.

A great place to run or walk.
Best direction to avoid crowds is towards Trent Lock by the river from the visitors Centre and then by the side of the canal a distance of about 3.25 miles on the flat. Just the right distance to practice your first 10k or just keep fit.
If you jog or walk to Cranfleet lock and turn back to the visitors centre it is about 5 miles.
If you go the other direction you come to the Boathouse Café at Beeston Marina about 2 miles away for a great breakfast of bacon cobs or the full works If you want it (all fantastic value).
All in all Attenborough Nature Reserve is a great place to visit.

Cafe was open at 9.00 this morning and serving food (13th Aug). Lovely place for walking (dog's optional), cycling, bird watching, photography. or just meandering and dreaming about living in one of those gorgeous boat houses on the other side of the river!
We park in Chilwell retail park car park, this morning we got a coffee from Costa before doing a 6.4mile circular-ish walk. You can make up walks from very short to over 8 miles without walking the same path twice.
