On August 9, 2007, representatives of the main sponsors unveiled a bronze plaque at the Christopherus Fountain listing the names of the 405 “Fountain Donors”. The fountain with the figure of St. Christopher, created by the Worpswede artist Waldemar Otto, has been adorning the monastery square in Osterholz since 2005.

It is thanks to the initiative of the Osterholz harvest festival committee, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2003 and wanted to use the fountain to compensate for the official linden tree felled in 2001. In addition to the five main sponsors, the harvest festival committee, the Klosterholz raffle, the citizens' association, the local history association and Otto Arnholt, the 400 other donors have contributed to the fact that the 2.40 m tall Christopherus is now debt-free.
