Saint-Martin-du-Canigou is a monastery at 1100 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Pic du Canigou (2784 m). The first church was consecrated here in 1009, but the monastery fell into disrepair in the 18th century and was only rebuilt at the beginning of the 20th century.
To get a spectacular view of the complex on the mountain spur in the steep, rocky surroundings, climb the stairs behind the monastery to the viewing point.
