The place is first mentioned in 1290 as Lehnsbesitz. Gut Sommersdorf was owned by the von Maltzahn family, which had their headquarters on the neighboring estate Kummerow. The last owner is the family Rewoldt. After the predecessor building burned down in 1924, the building was rebuilt in a modified form. In the time of the national socialism the manor house was used as "farm school for the training of young farmer women". After 1945, refugees first moved into the manor house, and later also used it for residential purposes. In 2005, construction work on the exterior facade and on the roof took place at the manor house. A farm building is the seat of the volunteer fire department summer village.
