Mount Castildetierra, in Blanca Baja, is a unique geological formation in Navarre, unique and of particular interest for its landscape and educational value. It's a fairy chimney. It is a large natural column of soft rock, generally of sedimentary origin (clay or shale and marl), whose top is formed by a more resistant sandstone rock that protects this column from erosion. These types of formations can range from the height of a man to that of a ten story building. The variety of colors is due to the different minerals that make it up. The dominant erosion forces in the Cabezo de Castildetierra are the force of the rains and the wind in the region (the north wind). Strong canyons are observed in the lowest part of the structure. To avoid further deterioration, one must enjoy this work of nature a few meters away.

If you do not know it and you can come one day, go see it! It is really worth it, and it is next to the car, after a couple of kilometers on a rocky track.

Castildetierra is an impressive geological formation located in the Bardenas Reales Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve, in southeastern Navarre. This formation, known as "cabezo," is the result of differential erosion, where the upper layers of more resistant materials, such as limestone and sandstone, protect the lower layers of softer clay. The semi-desert landscape of the Bardenas Reales has been the setting for several film and television productions, including the series "Game of Thrones." There are also several trails to explore the area, with the Castildetierra trail being one of the most accessible and recommended for families.
