The first mention of the church was in 1454.

The majestic Church of S. Martino stands on a promontory to the west of the city and is in front of the Castle-Ricetto but has a NE facade. It is preceded by a staircase and presents itself in baroque forms, but its origins are very ancient. Originally a chapel, it belonged to the Superior of the Parish Church of S. Maria a Manerba until 1454, the year of its separation and autonomy. The current forms were conferred in the eighteenth century. The entrance portal is pleasant, over which there is a large rectangular window that reproduces in stained glass the scene of Saint Martin giving his cloak to the beggar (you can see it very well inside). The single-nave interior is decorated with stucco and marble.
Parking is possible in the area.

The Church of San Martino, Parish Moniga, is one of the oldest in Valtenesi. It was originally a "chapel" and, like all churches in our area, depended on the Pieve di Santa Maria in Manerba. It broke away from it and became autonomous on October 13, 1454, when it was consecrated by Bishop Ermolao Barbaro and consecrated to San Martino, protector of knights, soldiers, tailors and hosts, a saint whose cult had been introduced in Italy since modern times If the church lacked goods and income, i.e. what was necessary for its maintenance, the bishop stated that the archpriest of the Pieve di Manerba ceded her property to Moniga, but also when the dependency ended, a strong connection to the Mother Church remained. In fact, it appears that in 1576, more than a century after the detachment, the Moniga community still paid four pounds of white wax and half a pound of incense to the Pieve di Santa Maria.
