The old stone bridge was built by prisoners of war during the 1st World War. It was needed for the access to the Imbergstollen, in which the former gold mining was reactivated at that time.
Here at this point is a beautifully situated bench for a break during the ascent with a view of the old bridge. When the valley is in the shade further down in late summer and autumn (the last viewing bench a little further down is then in the shade), the sun is much longer here.
The further path leads over the bridge and shortly thereafter through a rock opening, a "tunnel" of only a few meters in length. You have made more than half of the ascent here, but the two most severe climbs are still to come.

Very impressive bridge with a great view. However, it has been closed for some time now because the path has become a river.
