The privately owned Villa Callas has remained unchanged in its external appearance since it was purchased in the 1950s by Giovanni Battista Meneghini, a Veronese entrepreneur and husband of the soprano Maria Callas, to spend his holidays in Sirmione. After the couple separated, the villa was sold and renovated in recent years.

Maria Callas was born in New York in 1923 and was then named Anna Maria Cecilia Sophia Kalogheròpoulos. In her life she became one of the most important sopranos of the 20th century and moved to Sirmione in the 1950s with her then husband Giovanni Battista Meneghini. She lived in her villa on Lake Garda, away from the hustle and bustle of celebrities, and made this place her oasis of peace. Today Maria Callas' villa is a luxury hotel and if you have some extra money, you can check in here. For me it was only enough for one photo *wink*.
