💦 Schussbach spring 💦
In the years 1909 to 1912, eight springs were tapped for Bad Windsheim's water supply by decision of the Bad Windsheim City Council. On January 8th, 1910, the royal district office in Neustadt a. i.e. Aisch permission to extract and divert groundwater and spring water for the purpose of water supply.
Water production in the Altselingsbach headwaters with nine springs and one well had to be stopped in 2000 because the water quality at various water catchments could no longer meet the strict requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance in all parameters. Since then, Bad Windsheim has obtained all of its drinking water from the Franconian District Water Supply Association. The water from the Schussbach spring is not regularly tested according to the Drinking Water Ordinance and may therefore not be referred to as drinking water.
