The circular route begins at the 'La Cumbrecita' car park. To access this, you must first obtain a permit from the visitor center, as parking spaces are very limited.

Basically, the route can be walked in both directions. However, you should note that the anti-clockwise route begins with a considerable gradient on a serpentine path (of course it also ends the other way round, which was more pleasant for us).

However, as the overall elevation profile is very moderate and amounts to around 100 meters in altitude, the route is also suitable for less experienced hikers. As the lower part of the path is quite narrow and runs along a slight slope, you should be sure-footed.
