A beautiful castle to see. Hindersteyn's garden and park are characterized by their medieval construction. The moat around an almost square piece of land, lined with trees, reflects the seclusion of the Middle Ages. At that time there was no question of a spacious construction. The number of buildings will be expanded and existing buildings will be enlarged. The residential tower, dating from about 1315, still stands on the same spot and has remained unchanged. In the 19th century, the knowledge and use of all kinds of exotic plants expanded and a vegetable garden became an important status symbol for the owner. In 1881 a recognizable vegetable garden was created on the spot where it is now located. Many elements can now be found on Hindersteyn that were standard in country estates.
