The former Grand Ducal Museum was built in 1869 as one of the first German museum buildings. In April 2019, the New Museum, which was last used for temporary exhibitions, opened with a permanent presentation of early modern art from the Weimar School of Painting to Henry van de Velde. A large museum workshop invites you to do manual work.
