The church was built in 1589, probably on the foundations of a previous building. The construction of the built in half-timbered rectangular, plastered church was under Ludolf XIII. from Alvensleben (1555-1610), who founded the pastorate. A renovation took place in 1779. Plastered half-timbered buildings were built on the north and south side. An inscription with a coat of arms above the entrance refers to John Frederick VII of Alvensleben (1747-1829) and Carl Ludolf von Alvensleben (1746-1813) as donor.
The tower is designed as a square roof tower with a hood and is located on the west side. The lantern of the tower turns into an octagon. Inside, the nave has a flat ceiling resting on coves.
