    Large district town of Dinkelsbühl (Segringer Tor, 2023-05-13):

    tourismus-dinkelsbuehl.de/ihr-urlaubsort/stadtrundgang/stations-rundgang/segringer-tor

    “In 1648 the Segringer Gate collapsed after being besieged by Swedish troops and was rebuilt in 1655 in the Baroque style. The adjoining city wall secured the south-west flank of the city with numerous defensive towers. In the gateway, a staircase leads down to the moat. The wide Segringer Straße offers a charming view over the roofs of the old town to the St. Georg Minster.”

    Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments (City of Dinkelsbühl, monuments, 2023-05-13):

    geodaten.bayern.de/denkmal_static_data/externe_denkmalliste/pdf/denkmalliste_merge_571136.pdf

    “D-5-71-136-567 … western city gate, so-called Segringer Tor, five-story plastered gate tower with cornice structure, onion dome and lantern, newly built by Antonio Don in 1655, stone steps on the wall adjoining to the north, two-story front gate on the field side with hipped roof and wicker arch gate ;

    Stone bridge over the former moat, round arches made of sandstone blocks walled up.”

      One of the city gates, very beautiful, used to be used for city fortifications.
