An idyllic spot at the foothills of the Meulewald, invites you to linger - but not for swimming, because this is prohibited here, so as not to disturb the fish living there, because the pond belongs to the Ehranger Fishing Association.

Even if he does not look like this, the Kaiserhammer pond, as well as the nearby Wolfskaulweiher, is a piece of industrial history of the Trier region. Until 1972, there was the ironworks Klöckner-Werke AG in Quint, whose origins date back to the 17th century. The two ponds simply served as cooling water tanks.

Another witness of this time can be found in Quint, the Quinter Castle, which was originally built in the 18th century by the owner family of Klöckner-Werke.
