Thanks to steel struts in an open design, the pilgrim cross looks filigree despite its size of 3.2 meters. The Jakobs Pilgrims' Way, prepared by the Antiquities Commission for Westphalia, was officially opened in May 2010. The path begins in Corvey as a connection to the eastern pilgrimage routes, leads to Dortmund and finally on to the tomb of St. James the Apostle to Santiago de Compostela. The idea to build a pilgrim's cross was born in the parish council Bökendorf. So was the pastoral opportunity "The Way of St. James leads through our church." used and created a new place of faith.

Exactly on Jakobustag 2011 the cross was presented to the public and blessed. Since then, every year on the 25th of July, the Pilgrims' Cross is celebrating a gala event, weather permitting. The numerous entries in the pilgrim book prove that this has become an important pastoral place. Here people come to free themselves from the burdens and worries. And that's exactly what you can do now. Do you still have your stone? You are invited to throw the stone into the hollow body of the cross. Symbolically, pilgrims can entrust their requests, wishes, prayers and burdens to the cross. Do you feel relief, not just physically? Enjoy the break at the pilgrims' cross on the Way of St. James in Hainhausen! Source: orte-verbinden.de
