On the side of the Amsterdamsestraatweg, south-west of the Sterrenbos, next to the Schrikslaan is a drifting sand hill. It originally had a marble throne with a triumphal arch. The originally placed 'arch' stood at the end of a diagonal avenue and offered a view of the sky from the ground. The Netelenburg farm and the moors could be seen from the hump. At the end of the eighteenth century there was a seating element painted as white marble on the hill with the back piece, a deep niche, and the seating area as red marble. After 1900 a bench was built on the hill, flanked by two large naves. When it disappeared, a new bench appeared behind the hill on Schrikslaan. Behind this 'throne' winding avenues run through the Troonbos behind it. The hill has since eroded considerably and no longer offers a view through the high trees in the forest.
