The Hatzenturm is a piece of history in Upper Swabia. The Hatzenturm is the rest of a medieval castle complex, probably the knight of Hatto (nis).
The Hatzenturm is one of the more famous sights in Upper Swabia and its function at the time is controversial, just like the question of the builders. It is one of the many tower castles of this type that were built in the High Middle Ages. The tower in Fronreute is also part of this construction chain. The tower is privately owned today, but can be visited

The Hatzenturm is a tower castle at 580 m above sea level. NN high slope in the district Hatzenturm of the municipality Wolpertswende in the district of Ravensburg in Baden-Württemberg.
The hill castle was probably built in 1128 (a Filius Hattonis was mentioned) by the knights of Hatzenturm, a sideline of the Lords of Fronhofen, who were called Königsegg from the middle of the 13th century. In 1419, Hans von Königsegg, son of Eberhard, sold the Hatzenturm castle and the Wolpertswende parish to the Heilig-Geist-Spital Ravensburg. The 18 meter high tower (keep) of the tower castle has a base of 9 by 9 meters and a wall thickness of 2.50 meters.
