The upper of the two bear caves on Bärenfelsen is the largest natural sandstone cave in the Palatinate. The caves are located at the head of the Langentals, which extends from Pirmasens to Rodalben. They are among the highlights of the Rodalber rock hiking trail, which surrounds Rodalben at a distance of about 42 kilometers.
