Ebenforstalm Mountain Hut

Open all summer long. Great alpine hut on an idyllic alpine pasture. Good food and friendly service.

The Ebenforstalm is particularly worthwhile for lovers of untouched nature. The journey from Molln to the junction after 11 km along the crooked Steyerling then along the Hausbach offers a delightful landscape with small, lovingly tended houses like from another time

"Geißhansl-Niedern" transition
is partly steep but you will be rewarded with a great view and then with a 7Km descent, which not only makes the adrenaline rise but also conveys the uniqueness of the national park.
After 4 miles along the Reichramingbach, you turn into the wild gorge and screw your way up almost 650 meters in altitude on well-shaded forest roads to the high plateau of the Ebenforstalm.
There you will not only find hospitality, good food and drink, but also a junction box with sockets and even existing chargers for exhausted e-bikers.
Over the unsigned pasture you come to the west to a cattle gate on a hill in the forest and from there after a short adventurous descent in a ditch on the forest road which offers 13 km of pure downhill pleasure. From there it's back along the crooked Steyerling back to Molln.
