The lovingly furnished Tüötten Museum in Mettingen aims to keep the memory of the Mettingen linen merchants alive. Their history goes back over 400 years: from Mettingen, the traveling merchants brought high-quality linen to the Netherlands and later to northern and eastern Germany as well as to the Baltic states and Scandinavia.

The museum vividly presents the living culture of the traveling merchants. In addition to a very extensive collection of furniture, everyday objects and old customs, pictures, exhibits, maps, documents, books and equipment recall the time of the industrious merchants.
