Millennium Tower

Erected on the Croix-Scaille plateau, the Millénaire Tower, a spectacular 60 m high hourglass-shaped belvedere, marks the highest point in the province and the 5th in Belgium (503 m).
Inspired by history (four towers existed on this summit at various times), this achievement allows you to discover a fabulous landscape for free over more than 30 km around with the help of an orientation table.
The stairs provide access to three observation platforms located at 15, 30 and 45 meters respectively.
The site is open all year round except during hunting periods in this area, in the event of bad weather or if the access road is reserved for cross-country skiing.
At the foot of the Tower, the Croix-Scaille tourist reception chalet offers maps, tourist documentation, ice cream, refreshment bar and games for children during the season.
The site of the Millennium Tower is also the starting or transit point for many marked walks. Don't miss either, not far from there, the walk on duckboards in the Fange de l'Abîme nature reserve where there is flora particularly associated with peaty and acidic soil. The Millénaire Tower, designed by Liège architect Daniel Dethier, combines wood and steel. This structure, sixty meters high, slender, daring, ... highlights the qualities of Walloon wood and, more precisely, the Douglas firs of the Municipality of Gedinne.
