Reaching Monte Catalfano, near Bagheria, allows you to breathe deeply with a view of the coast, in search of endemic plants and Mediterranean and tropical species.

The entire park is about 300 hectares large, through the mountainous complex which includes Monte d'Aspra (Monte Irice, Cozzo San Pietro and Cozzo Tondo), Monte Catalfano (Monte Catalfano and Cavallo di Mezzo) and Monte Città, seat of the ancient Punic city of Solunto.

The limestone mountain extends into the Tyrrhenian Sea with the promontory of Capo Zafferano. In the rocky body there are some deep cavities (the zubbi) that welcome important entomological populations. Among these, the Zubbio di Cozzo San Pietro, the Hermit's Cave and the Cala dell'Osta Cave.

At the starting point of the reserve there is a welcoming playground for children.
