A well-preserved castle from which you can enjoy a great view of Brescia.
Attention: One way down from the castle is "The Way of Quick Assistance" - very nice to walk, but you end up at a big street where you have to walk for about 1 km to get back to the beautiful old town.

Unfortunately, the parking spaces at the top were very full, but we managed to get one on the second attempt.

Parking is free, as is access to the castle grounds.

A visit to the castle is worthwhile; there's so much to discover.

Perched on the Cidneo hill, the Castle is one of the most fascinating fortified complexes in Italy and the second largest in Europe, in which the signs of the various dominations can still be read today.

The keep on the top of the hill, with the mighty Tower of the Prisoners, the drawbridge and the Tower Mirabella, which overlooks the city, the last memory of the church of Santo Stefano in Arce, are witnesses of the communal period and of the Visconti domination. The massive ramparts, with the monumental entrance portal, document the power of the Serenissima, which ruled the city for about four centuries.

Reachable from the center of Brescia both by bike and on foot.
