This Byzantine-style chapel has rich stained glass windows and a rood screen decorated with gilding.

The location of the chapel was already a small oratory in 1683.

Legend has it that a lady found a statue of the Virgin in the hollow of a tree. This statue became an object of veneration and even pilgrimage.

Added to this is the fact that the water from the nearby fountain treated eye problems.

It was then that in 1749, the oratory was transformed into a chapel. There was even a home planned for the chaplain.

It was called the “Hermitage du Wixhou”. The chatelaine of Château d’Argenteau, the Marquise de Laverne even created a foundation there.

Then he was relieved by Count François de Mercy-Argenteau in 1849.
