The hut has come a little in the years, but that doesn't change the patch of earth where it was built. For me a real "place of power"!

If I had to imagine what it looks like in the Himalayas, that's exactly how I would imagine it.

It's wonderful here and you can't get enough of the surroundings, the glacier and the view of the mighty glaciated Weißkugel (3,700m) in the Ötztal Alps.

The hut was built in the years 1892-1893 by the Frankfurt am Main section of the DuÖAV and handed over to the Mark Brandenburg section before the First World War. The hut was expropriated in 1919 and was under military administration until 1924; In 1925 it was handed over to the Desio section of the CAI. On the hundredth birthday of Pope Pius XI. it was renamed in 1957 in Rifugio Pio XI alla Palla Bianca. Source: Wikipedia
