Splendid views await from the 1,411-foot (430.2 m) summit of Hades Hill. To the west are the towns and villages of Rossendale, jostling for space in the narrow, steep-sided valley, whilst high moorland rises all around. To the east is Stoodley Pike, an important landmark on the Pennine Way.
