Katharinenbild indicates a crossroads on a saddle (415 meters above sea level) between the Lehngrund, a side valley of the Lohrtal and the Sindersbachtal 5.4 km southeast of the oak mountain. About this saddle leads the only publicly accessible, but not paved road from the district Ruppertshütten to the city center of Lohr within the urban area. About one kilometer from Katharinenbild lies the upper lake of the pumped storage power plant Langenprozelten; It can be reached on foot via a hiking trail that is marked with a red fox, and offers a farsighted view in the Spessart to the Rhön. The Katharinenbild is referred to in the Pfinzing map as Gross Erleporn for a source (now Great Erlenbrunnen) nearby. In 1872 a guidepost made of cast iron from Rexroth with deer horns was set up. The latter have already disappeared for the third time. In 1936 a refuge was built.

Old, cast iron signpost and a really nice wooden shelter with concrete floor.
