Gelida Castle is a half-ruined castle with an adjoining church, located southeast of the urban core of Gelida. The church, documented already in the year 945, is the only building that remains standing. It is currently part of a museum space managed by the Association of Friends of Gelida Castle.
The set of buildings that are part of the castle is located on a hill with different heights (250-290 meters), sought after by other mountains in the north of the Sierra del Ordal.
His property passed through the families of the Cervelló, Montcada, Arborea and Bertrán. It is known that Pedro de Portugal lived in 1465.3 In 1780, the parish priest of San Pedro requested permission to take stone to build the bell tower.
