The church was built in 1386 and consecrated in 1401. It is located in the countryside on a rock and is a landmark of the town of Breitenbrunn. It has an octagonal central building and two towers with onion domes.
During the Second World War, the tower of the church was hit three times by tank shells and riddled with holes, each additional hit would have caused the church to collapse. After the war it was rebuilt in 1946.
The church has a baroque high altar and elaborately designed side altars.ostbayern-tourismus.de/instrumente/wallfahrtskirche-st.-sebastian-6f87e0fecc
