It's a majestic cubic building open on Piazza S. Oronzo. It was built in the mid 1500s and was intended to play a representative role for the city of Lecce. The structure, which presents an interesting mix of Gothic and Renaissance spirit, is divided into two floors: the lower one with two walls open by immense pointed arches and the upper floor with a loggia composed of three small arches. The large internal hall of the Palace is decorated with frescoes depicting the life of Charles V and has a grand fireplace on the back wall. Until 1851 it was the seat of the Town Hall, while later became the seat for exhibitions and cultural events, today it houses the city info point. On the right side, well kept a small church built in 1543 at the behest of the thriving colony of Venetians, residing in the city at that time, and therefore dedicated to San Marco.
