This causeway is a bit of a rarity in England, as it becomes submerged twice a day, as the tide comes in. Holy Island's castles and coffee are well worth the trip but be sure to check the tide times before leaving the mainland.

Pilgrims Coffee and Cake cafe at Lindisfarne makes a great stop. Careful on the sandy road when crossing the causeway. Breathtaking scenery on the crossing.
