The pond is about 50 x 500 m and was set up in 1878 as a water reservoir for the neighboring mine of the same name and its steam boiler systems. Today, the idyllic Itzenplitzer pond belongs to the recreational area. The eye catcher is the historic pump house built in 1908.

What can you say, always worth a visit! Around the pond are three levels on which you can drive around the pond. There are also really great trails there, not least the Pingen path including signage and teaching stations with QR codes.
