The food in the Heidelbergschänke is great. Hidden away, but always worth a visit. If you still have strength, you can climb the Heidelbergturm.

On the 444m high Heidelberg was already built around 1905 the "Carolaturm". In 1923, when the community was unable to raise the money for a coat of paint, the tower was demolished. Only in 1991 Wüstenbrand got his lookout tower, today's "Heidelbergturm", back again.
The Heidelbergschänke with its beer garden invites you to linger in good weather.

The restaurant is only open on Fridays from 5pm and on Saturdays / Sundays from 11am.
But it is a wonderful spot, which always worth a detour, already because of the tower ascent.
When I came over there, the landlord happened to be there and gave me a cold beer at 28 ° in the shade.
