The Pogusch is an Alpine pass in Upper Styria between the Stübming and Mürz valleys. It connects the communities of Turnau in the north with Sankt Lorenzen im Mürztal in the south via the L123 Stollinggraben Landesstraße. The emphasis is on the second syllable with a very long u Poguuuusch.Motorized traffic is slightly heavier than on the surrounding Steirischer Seeberg or Pretalsattel passes. This probably has something to do with the Steirereck tavern, for which the pass is famous. The offshoot of Birgit and Heinz Reitbauer's highly decorated restaurant in Vienna's Stadtpark attracts gourmets from all over Austria. For cyclists, the Pogusch can offer some beautiful hairpin bends and the occasional view. If you don't want to come by bike, you can also take the helicopter. The Pogusch is often flown to by helicopter taxis.

You can order a good meal here before you set off, or treat yourself to a small snack. Of course there is also coffee and cake 🍰
