Created in the baroque style around 1800, the courtyard garden, which had existed since 1535, was also redesigned at the same time.
Franconian cuisine is served in the restaurant when lockdown is not the order of the day 😒

The Orangery building was constructed on marshy ground in the middle of the old riverbed of the Rezat, which necessitated a wooden pile grid as a foundation for the building's massive north wall. The Orangery is 102 m long and is an elongated, castle-like single-wing complex divided by three pavilions. On its south side, the Baroque building has 25 round-arched windows and four large rectangular windows that open onto the courtyard garden. Between the windows are pilasters with Ionic capitals, which are duplicated near the pavilion walls. While the south front is aligned with the level garden parterre, the north facade slopes steeply down towards the Rezat. The north wall has a row of segmental-arched windows only at its base. A colonnade of Ionic double columns is placed in front of the wall on the base. The two end faces to the east and west convey the natural difference in the terrain.
