Cycling
An elegant arched bridge made of red sandstone. It was built around 1860. For a long time there was only a temporary transition here. Because the Exter had flooded the whole village in 1837 and destroyed all bridges on its lower reaches. The new building was extraordinary in shape and color. The red Weser sandstone came from the Solling, a mountain range near Karlshafen around 100 kilometers from Exten. It is as hard as granite and gets its characteristic color from the mineral hematite.
