The bicycle and pedestrian ferry is in service from Saturday, April 25 to Sunday, October 25, 2020. I.v.m. the corona measures can take about 12 passengers. This can lead to delays on busy days. The ferry across the IJssel takes you from Gorssel into a beautiful area of the floodplains of the IJssel. The dikes are accessible and there are beautiful walks. A special feature is the medieval Bomendijk, which still has the function of a winter dyke and is wonderful for walking.
On the other side, about 700 meters from the ferry, you will find café, restaurant and museum of old agricultural tools De Kribbe. From De Kribbe you cycle on the quiet road in 5 km to Deventer. Just follow the dike and the IJssel. If you take the Wilhelminabrug in Deventer, you are directly at the beautiful Brink and the historic Bergkwartier with, among other things, the atmospheric Walstraat with its many nice shops, boutiques and galleries. Via the ferry, a few hundred meters past the bridge, you will arrive at the Lebuineskerk on the other side of the center. Everything within walking distance. The bicycle can be taken on the ferry, but can also stay behind there. Costs one way per person 1.30 (bicycle is free)
