A piece of faith a step away from Bourgas
Legends say that in this place since Thracian times there was a pagan sanctuary. Probably the monastery was founded in the XII century, and because of the healing waters below it there was a ward for the treatment of sick people.
The first documented information about the existence of the monastery is from 1892. In municipal protocols it is mentioned under the name "Ayazmoto".
From the Liberation until 1944 the monastery was very revered and visited by citizens of Burgas. During the totalitarian regime, people did not stop walking, but secretly.
In 1982, a group of believers began rebuilding the dilapidated monastery. A woman - mother Seraphim, dedicated herself to God, accepted monasticism and since then has taken care of the restoration and maintenance of the holy monastery.
Currently, the monastery "Holy Mother of God" has two churches, one - "Holy Nativity of the Mother of God" is newly built. There is a residential building on three floors, a granary and outbuildings.
The most interesting are the chapels, which so far number 40. Each chapel bears the name of a different saint, and some of them are built on wells with healing water.
Each of the seven mineral springs has a different chemical composition and different healing properties of water. Healing springs have been known since ancient times.
