As part of the return to the Gothic a new building era began for the church in Neukirchen, in which in 1881 a neo-Gothic interior and the church tower were rebuilt. As early as 1911 there was a desire to expand the church. Two new side altars were erected and the high altar and pulpit renovated. In February 1915 the new way of the cross made of terracotta figures was inaugurated.
