Protestant Parish Church (1727/35) - Langenselbold/MKK 🚴‍♂️

The parish church was built between 1727 and 1735 as a transverse building and is one of the city's landmarks. Together with the Baroque Langenselbold Castle and the associated castle park, it forms the castle ensemble.

The church is 31 meters long and approximately 28.5 meters wide (depth). According to a land register entry, the floor area measures 637 cubic meters.

The floor plan is oval with four transverse arms. The southern transverse arm supports the tower, which is located on one of the long sides and emphasizes the transverse church shape of the floor plan. An entrance is located in each of the four projecting transverse arms.

The building has been preserved essentially in the condition in which it was constructed. However, the interior of the church was altered several times in the 19th century. The stained-glass windows date from 1911. In 1959/60, major renovations were carried out: the old pews were removed and the pulpit wall was altered. The last renovation took place in 2005/06. 🚴‍♂️
