The bridge connects the right bank of the Nieuwe Maas with the Noordereiland. The current bridge is the second Willemsbrug. The Willemsbrug (Dutch: Willemsbrug) is, along with the Erasmusbrug and the Van Brienenoordbrug, one of Rotterdam's three large bridges over the Nieuwe Maas.
