At this point is a copy of a historical wayside shrine in the form of a sandstone sculpture. The copy dates from 1957, the original from 1514 and is now exhibited in the House of City History in Heilbronn and can still be viewed there.

Originally the wayside shrine was located at the beginning of the path to the Heilbronn Galgenberg, i.e. at the beginning of the "Armsündersteige". The current location does not correspond exactly to the historical location, but it is very close to it. The wayside shrine served the sinners on their way to the gallows as the last chance to reconcile with God and exhorted sincere repentance, whereby they should find favor before the heavenly judge.
