The plant with a double trench ring goes back to the time before the year 1000 AD. The castle was probably built in the 13th century. Since its foundation, the castle, which is actually a castle, is owned by the freeman family of Fraunberg. During the Thirty Years War, it was looted and badly damaged. 1683 the plant was rebuilt.
