The cable car ride is not to be missed. The view is just too beautiful.

At least on this Sunday the cable car was pretty crowded. Despite the fact that the cabins are every minute, it would have required a longer queue. Basically, the ride in the spacious gondolas with the view of the Rhine, Moselle and Koblenz seems very worthwhile.

The Koblenz cable car, also known as the Buga cable car or Rheinseilbahn, is a cable car over the Rhine in Koblenz. It was built as an attraction and environmentally friendly transport link for the 2011 Federal Horticultural Show. Since June 2010, the cable car has connected the Rhine facilities at the level of the Basilica of St. Kastor with the plateau in front of the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. It is Germany's first three-cable gondola and, with a transport capacity of 7,600 people per hour, has the highest capacity in the world. Its construction costs amounted to around twelve million euros. After approval by UNESCO, the cable car can be operated until the end of its technically longest possible service life in 2026. The responsible operator is Skyglide Event Deutschland GmbH from Lindau (Lake Constance), a wholly owned subsidiary of the manufacturer Doppelmayr, which uses the Koblenz cable car as a demonstration facility.
