The German Sielhafenmuseum provides information about the history and living conditions of the North Sea inhabitants of this region. Always worth seeing: The harbor area with historic ship types that can really drive. A wonderful place for a longer break on a tour.

Carolinensiel used to be right by the sea. In its heyday in the 18th and 19th centuries, the port was the second largest East Frisian Siel and trading port. But land reclamation made the distance to the sea bigger and bigger. With the construction of the pumping station at the end of the 1950s, the harbor in the middle of the town lost its meaning and became dull. Only when the construction of the Sielhafenmuseum began in the 1980s and the harbor basin was reconstructed did the area come to life again. Today, the museum harbor with the traditional flat-bottom sailors anchored here and the historic building ensemble of the Sielhafenmuseum is a place of special charm.

Set up for the 275th anniversary of the town of Carolinensiel in 2005. To commemorate the term "Cliner Wind" which stands for joie de vivre, cosmopolitanism, energy and daring.
