Tips
Path 1b goes from the Port to the Castle through the San Giorgio Valley, near the ancient Church of San Giorgio and the homonymous spring. It is a beautiful path that starts in great ascent through some vineyards followed by Mediterranean scrub, then crosses the hill and enters the holm oak forest and finally crosses stretches of bare granite rock east of the Castle. The path is challenging, both uphill and downhill, especially in the summer heat.

Currently there is a lot of thorny undergrowth in the way. For female companions with sensitive calves, better route 1 (the old donkey route) up (and down).
